Some of you may have heard about our ongoing correspondence with President Obama.
Our kids write him at least twice a month.
Let me clearly state–this is not parentally inspired.
In fact…we’re actually a little concerned about the Secret Service file that may be accumulating.
We have sent photos of stick bugs.
We have sent sticks of gum.
We have sent a Bible.
We have sent many many MANY offers of “I hope you can come visit me soon”.
Cavan even offered to send him some fireworks (among other flammable options).
Since then we have been opening their packages just to make sure we don’t end up on some strange FBI “watch list”.
Here is Laura’s latest letter:
“Dear President Obama,
Do you know Jesus Christ? I do. He lives in heaven. I hope you know Jesus Christ.
I love when we write to each other. It is fun. There is a poem called Try Try Again and I like it.
This is it.
Tis a lesson you should heed,
Try try again;
If at first you don’t succeed,
Try, try again.
Then your courage should appear,
For, if you will persevere,
You will conquer, never fear;
Try, try again.”
