Remembering Selah…

From this morning’s Daily Bread:
“If you believe that the Son of God
died and rose again…your whole future
is full of the dawn of eternal morning,
coming up beyond the hills of life,
and full of such hope
as the highest imagination for the poet
has not a glimmer yet.”
~George MacDonald
“The Son of God died and rose again,
and His resurrection is the guarantee
that God will bring us up and out of the ground:
A thinking, feeling, remembering, recognizable
person will live forever.
Living forever means…
meeting again one’s believing loved ones
lost through separating death.”
~ David Roper

Selah

“To Pause and Value”

“May God be gracious to us and bless us
and make His face shine upon us;
Selah,
that Your way may be known on the earth,
Your saving power among all nations.”
~Psalm 67:1 & 2

Selah
For God alone,
O my soul,
wait in silence,
for my hope is from Him.
He only is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress;
I shall not be shaken.
On God rests my salvation and my glory;
my mighty rock,
my refuge is God.
Trust in Him at all time, O people;
pour out your heart before Him;
God is a refuge for us.
Selah
~Psalm 62: 5-8

    I remember Selah as the sweetest nursery baby I ever watched! That was my only interaction with her but I still remember going home with TJ that day saying, “I watched the sweetest happiest baby in the nursery today, the Chupps new baby.” :)

    Selah will always have a special spot in my heart. Her arrival into your family and her home going to the Lord impacted me deeply.

    So thankful for all of your love-filled comments…it has been a good day.
    It’s always a little strange to think back and remember… Difficult not to get choked up in all the emotions, but we’ve never seen God’s love through others (which can still be seen in all these sweet words) in such a deep way as we did back then.

    I think of Selah now whenever I see the cherry blossoms! What a lovely post Kara. It comforts me with my own losses too.
    I love what Becky said. “She has weight in this world.” So true.
