Housewarming Party (with PRESENTS) !!!

Well…

Most of our blog boxes are unpacked and we’re finally feeling a little settled over here at the new URL, so we decided it was time for a fun–

Housewarming Party !!!

Please come on in, take a look around, and make yourself at home!  If this is your first time visiting, please take a moment to check out our  “Meet the Chuppies” page (above).  Our “categories tab” in the top navigation bar will give you a sense of what we like to talk about over here.  And if you’d like to stay in touch, there are options for connecting with us on the sidebar.

Please be patient with us as we work out some minor glitches and we still haven’t been able to find all those comments from our previous home that we packed up and planned to move with us.

Mostly we just want to welcome you and to celebrate and to–

Thank God for providing this new spot.

I also want to say a special thank you to my designer friend Julie, who basically did all the heavy lifting in this blog move and who was SUPER patient with me as I said things like:

“I think those green little button things look better right next to that circle dotty thing…no wait…I changed my mind…let’s actually set them right on top of that big long box…under that place where things drop down with more places you can go.”

But now, it’s time for the celebration-presents-giveaway!!!  From us to you…     (some of our favorite things from some of our favorite people)

First, a set of these beautiful Wood Redeemed Letters from Dayspring

Next, 3 copies of my friend Rachel Wojnarowski’s ebook

 The Sensational Scent of Prayer…

(I love Rachel.  She is such an encouragement to me and even if you don’t take her book home with you, please take a minute to stop by and say “hi” to her for me.)

Do your kiddos enjoy Adventures in Odyssey?  We also have an entire set of the Adventures in Odyssey Passages Book Series to share with you…

This next gift is from my kindred-spirit-friend-Jen who writes at This Gal’s Journey.  She and her husband Seth, who is an amazing photographer, live in Ireland.  They’ve offered to share (your choice of) one of his Irish Countryside Photos in a 5X7 or 8X10 size, with one of our readers.

We love The Child Training Bible!    “The Child Training Bible is a tool that allows parents and children (and anyone who loves the Word of God) to go directly to the pages of Scripture for instruction in 20 key areas with a complete section dedicated to the gospel.”

And finally, from our family to yours, two of our favorites…

Meet the Rizers– from a band that puts God’s Word to music in a way your children (and you) will remember…

Notes from the Tilt-A Whirl– a book by N.D. Wilson that we love!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

We hope to see you again soon…

(You may enter once per day up until next-Monday-midnight.)

  3. love the new place! nice job :-)

  4. Yay! Welcome to your new home! I totally get the comment thing. When I transferred to my dot com, only some comments went with me. And I have no idea why some did and others didn’t. Someone much more techie than me could probably figure it out. Right now, I am just hoping no one is offended.=)

    • Well…even if the comments don’t make it over…I’m going to just take it as a “fresh start”…I wouldn’t have been able to ANY of this without Julie (the one I mentioned above). I’m totally not computer-tech-savvy…

  5. Hello I am Kelly from New Jersey. Congrats on the move!

  6. The new blog looks great. Colorful and easy to navigate. Love it!

  7. Yay! Your new home is just as cozy as the other one. Still great to be here. So happy for you, K. Thx for the great giveaways! :)

  8. Welcome :) Looks great, Kara!

  9. It looks great, Kara! Congrats on the move :)

  10. I love the new look! All those button thingys look so organized and neat! :)

    • Ha! I thought you would like that… :)
And believe me, poor Julie…I am a mess when it comes to anything that involve html…but I’m sloooowly learning. It’s fun to learn something new too!
I have no idea how-in-the-world you set up your own new site “all by yourself”.
I’m still looking up passwords when I want to log in.
      Nice–huh?

  11. Hi Kara!

Congrats on the new look and move :) Looks great! Great giveaway too! I would love to win the Adventures in Odyssey books that I think my kids would love :)

  12. I am fairly new to The Chuppies. Love the green all over your new “home.” I was especially touched this morning when I read on your Meet the Chuppies page, “We fail on a daily basis and are constantly thankful for 1 John 1:9.” Although we all need someone to look up to, it’s so nice to see a blogger who admits to being human. :)

    • Oh Irene…that means a lot to me…thank you.
Honestly, even just last night I went to 1 John 1:9…so thankful for fresh starts and His forgiveness that removes my sin as far as the east is from the west (I love Psalm 103).
If you want to read about more of my mama-humanity :)
Check out the post called “Rats in My Cellar”
The quote in there from C.S. Lewis is incredibly convicting!

  13. So excited to see your new site up and running! :) It’s looking wonderful! I look forward to getting to know you more! (I’m Jessica! :) and I have 6 little ones ages seven and under, and am always excited to find others that are passionate about leading families to Christ.) Blessings!
    Jessica

I am Jeannie, a mom of 10 living blessings (one being knit within) and 3 awaiting us in eternity. I am a homeschool mom, and love so many of the resources you have listed here! It is great to hear from another mom who loves Christ and is doing her best to raise up godly children. Blessings to you~ Jeannie

    • I paused in replying to you…
I guess it just always hits hard when someone shares about little ones in Heaven (and I know our hearts must be knit in a special way).
I love what you shared in your comment and feel the same way…praying our kiddos will grow to know and love Him in a real, life transforming way.
Thanks so much for stopping by…

Hi, Thanks for these great give-aways. I love your blog. I found it a few months ago through your nature table post and have enjoyed reading your other posts, especially your thoughts on heaven.

    • Thanks Suzanna…
I love that you love thinking about Heaven…for me…it changes EVERYTHING.
      How I live now…
      What I’m willing to risk…
      Where I look for hope…
      But I’m quick to forget.
Have you read Paul Tripp’s book called “Forever”?
      If not–it’s just. so. good.
All about how it’s so easy to live with what he calls “eternity amnesia”.

  24. Thanks for the give-aways!

  39. Hi Kara! It was super special to finally chat with you and your husbie last night at the International outreach thingie at Southwest Bible. You were very encouraging as we explained our hearts and adoptions ups and downs.

    • I really enjoyed talking too…and was praying for your family this morning. The whole adoption road is such an incredibly wonderful-painful-exhausting-beautiful-emtional-BLESSING.
I know God will give you clear direction…but I’ll be praying for His kind of patience and trust and strength for you as you wait.
We always feel such a connection with others on the adoption journey.
      Love,
      Kara
